Software Overview
What Is LED Beats?
LED Beats lets you trigger LED lights using your music instruments!
It accepts MIDI input to let you talk to specific microcontrollers, and if you edit the sketch code enough you could probably trigger whatever you want!
LED Beats manages everything in project files so you can load different workspaces for different songs and stuff.
Everything's just XML files so you can share them! Post them online or whatever.
You can make really detailed light sequences or just use generators if you don't want to waste time! Just assign them to your instrument keyset, pop some keysets there on the timeline, and hit the play button.
Heck, you can even add music to the timeline and zoom in super close on the waveform to get the timing just right. You can also add MIDI note sequences to the timeline so you don't really even need an instrument! Wow!
Connect Your Instruments 'n' Hardware
Use any MIDI instrument to trigger lights! Just plug it into your computer, or if you need a handy MIDI-to-USB adapter, check out our recommended hardware section for an Amazon link.
Just about any Arduino should do! Just plug it into your computer, then add it to your project's controllers list, and assign it some lights!
